Cereal and raisins.
5/24/2012 Nearly Friday!
I’ve been slacking on the updates!
I thought I was starting my 5K speed training this week, but was tempted into joining a 4 mile trail run on Tuesday night, instead. It was REALLY fun. But, my ankle is sore, still, from a minor sprain on Mother’s Day, when i was falling over curbs sprinting to see my kid cross the finish line. I ran a race right after that it’s fine running. No pain whatsoever during road running. In fact, as long as I have my running shoes or okabashis on, I have no pain. Barefoot is another story. and, so is trail running. but OMG the trail running is so fun! I loved it so much. So, I may do it again next week and see how my ankle is. All of my other runs are roads or paved trails. It’s not swollen, hot to the touch, or discolored at all. I’m even a bit embarrassed to call it a sprain, but I’m worried about it in the way that any runner is paranoid of foot pain.
Menu today:
breakfast: Post Punk Kitchen’s Chelsea Waffles made with whole wheat pastry flour, maple syrup, molasses, and walnuts! Yumm! and an orange and coffee
Lunch: a box of Dr. McDougall’s veg soup. delicious! but a little high is sodium, of course. Some crackers and the rest of the great swiss chard from yesterday.
Dinner: Portabello fajitas w/ onions and peppers, spanish-style brown rice, and a salad. Pretty good!
snacks: cereal. I meant to make popcorn, but I got too busy so I didn’t get as many snacks as I needed. I’m sure I’ll wake up more ravenous than usual tomorrow.
Exercise: 30 min tempo run. I meant to do 10 minute warmup, 10 minute 10K race pace, then 10 min cool down, but I got off a bit. maybe next time. Overall the pace was good and fast.
Tomorrow I’m trying out the place my friend Sarah work out. First, I’m going child-care duty in the child-care co-op. then I’m trying out the exercise. I think it’s a boot camp style class. it oughta be fun and I’m looking forward to it. Usually Fridays are my day off.
Post Punk Kitchen’s Chelsea Waffles re-done with whole wheat pastry flour. Maple syrup and molasses, walnuts, and oranges. Delicious! about 500 calories.
Whole wheat pastry flour has made my switch from white flour to whole wheat totally painless. It’s truly a miracle.
HH Herby of the Week cured her auto-immune disorders.
wow, this is so compelling. Our society is full of people riddled with auto-immune disorders. I hope more people can find relief!
Post run snack: cinnamon raisin ezekial bread with peanut butter (no added oil, salt, sugar)
Ooops..forgot to take a pic of my food until after I had polished off the corn. Happy herbivore cajun chickpea patties, rainbow chard (also HH recipe) and roasted corn on the cob. So good! I had seconds on the greens.
Picnic lunch: hummus and lettuce on ezekial bread, celery, apples, and oranges.
