Today is my actual rest day, which *really* means I don’t run on Monday. Except sometimes I do, but not much. And, sometimes I cross train. Today I really did rest, though. I worked really hard last week and felt I needed some real effective rest, so that was today. Boring.
Last week I logged 25 miles, a record for me. Usually, at the pinnacle of half-marathon training I’m getting only 20 miles, but I’ve made such great strides in my fitness since last year, it’s fun to see such big changes with what seems like (now) such minimal effort on my part.
Here’s the rest of the week’s workouts, though!
Monday: rest (zzzzzzz)
Tuesday: trail run with DRC (I think we’re going for 6 miles altho it may be too hot. I’ll soak some dates tonight to make some sports drink, just in case we try it)
Wednesday: bootcamp in the morning, hills w/ BGR in the evening. Again, I’m not sure what the weather will allow. I managed 5 hill repeats last time, running, and 1 walking, but the heat may slow things down. We’ll see.
Thursday: Three-a-day. I planned 3 workouts last week, but didn’t manage. Perhaps since I had a good rest today, I won’t be so wiped out by thursday. Plus, the hard work may have earned me some strength. I have bootcamp then yoga in the morning, then a 4-5 mile run at night.
Friday: rest day (AGAIN!! another one! insane), maybe a short run.
Saturday: 15k run again…I’m glad of those, b/c I’m really looking forward to a new distance to race at the Too Hot To Handle. Ive previously only been trained for 5ks for those.
Sunday: short easy run 2ish miles.
Stuff coming up for me:
DRC Club Race: Independance Day 10K, July 7th (free for Dallas Running Club members)
Too Hot To Handle 15k on July 15th
Registration for Fall half-marathon training, which starts very soon! I think July 21st or something like that.
