My leg still hurts. I got in a grand total of 34 miles this week, and now I&amp;#8217;m trying to figure out if my tapering week is going to be super -resting my leg by not running at all, or by just doing a few short runs. erg. I don&amp;#8217;t know.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Anyway, I&amp;#8217;m going to try for a little yoga, and then I don&amp;#8217;t know what else. I planned this well. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I met up with a friend to run a new (to me) trail in Irving. It&amp;#8217;s not very technical, nice and flat with a few roots, but it was CRAZY muddy today. Not sink-up-to-your-ankles mud, but cake-up-a-mile-thick-on-your-shoes mud. A little slippery in places, too. So, it was slow going with careful running and stopping to scrape mud from shoes, which worked out fine since I&amp;#8217;m only gently exercising my hamstring right now. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The trail is apparently shared by cyclists, but there weren&amp;#8217;t any there while we were running. There were signs for the trails routes and instructions for cyclists, but we entered the trail from a road rather than a trail head, so they meant nothing to me.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It was about 80 degrees at 11am, with 70% humidity, warming up as the afternoon progressed and the cloud cover went away.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Me, over the trinity river on that scary railroad bridge pedestrians aren&amp;#8217;t supposed to be on.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It was pretty fun to go for a little trail run in the middle of the week! I can&amp;#8217;t wait to get back out there when I don&amp;#8217;t have to stop and scrape 2lbs of mud off of each shoe every .25 mile. :)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;#8220;The objective of this article is to present to physicians an update on plant-based diets. Concerns about the rising cost of health care are being voiced nationwide, even as unhealthy lifestyles are contributing to the spread of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. For these reasons, physicians looking for cost-effective interventions to improve health outcomes are becoming more involved in helping their patients adopt healthier lifestyles. Healthy eating may be best achieved with a plant-based diet, which we define as a regimen that encourages whole, plant-based foods and discourages meats, dairy products, and eggs as well as all refined and processed foods. We present a case study as an example of the potential health benefits of such a diet. Research shows that plant-based diets are cost-effective, low-risk interventions that may lower body mass index, blood pressure, HbA1C, and cholesterol levels. They may also reduce the number of medications needed to treat chronic diseases and lower ischemic heart disease mortality rates.
